Small-Scale Plant - Turkey: Quality Prevails

Quality and competence were the major reasons for placing the order with Rank Roofing.

The main criteria set by our customer for the supplier of the roof-tile production plant were:

- Absolute top quality of the final product (roof tile).

That means:

   - top-quality surface
   - top-quality round cut at the face edge
   - top-quality coating

- Components by internationally operating suppliers were to be used. For example:

   - electronics: Siemens
   - drive motors: SEW
   - frequency converters: SEW
   - pneumatics: Festo
   - coating system: Wagner

- Competent engineering and qualified staff. For example:

   - trustworthy advice in all matters relating to the production      of roof tiles
   - complete measurement of the existing production hall and      development of a dimension drawing (the customer had no      drawings)
   - planning of the production plant in the existing hall
   - product optimisation during the commissioning and       training phase

All these requirements are included in the standard service package of Rank Roofing. The plant was accepted under production conditions in our works by the customer. Since all electrical links are designed as plug-in connections, the plant was operational on site on the second day after assembly. We also supplied and commissioned a production system for special roof tiles (hip caps and tiles). The entire assembly, commissioning, and training took place within seven working days. Rank Roofing fulfilled the required factors to the fullest satisfaction of the customer.

Rank Roofing commissions a new semi-automatic concrete roof tile plant in the Ukraine

With the successful bid and assembly of a new concrete roof tile production plant in the Ukraine, Rank Roofing has established itself as a reliable and competent plant manufacturer in the emerging East European market.

The plant consists of the following components:

   - Roof tile de-palleter with conveyor belt
   - Mould release oil station with slide rail track
   - Concrete roof tile propulsion unit with extrusion box
   - Cutting station with special cutting blade
   - Coating station with conveyor belt

The production line runs fully automatic from the roof tile de-palleter to the coating station.

One special feature of the plant is that all singular components are infinitely variable. All components can also be operated individually without a problem. In addition, the entire production line as a unit is also infinitely variable.

   Production performance: 10 to 20 roof tiles or
   ridge tiles per minute
   The production speed can be doubled
   at a later time with minimal enhancements
   to a maximum of 40 roof tiles per minute.

Presently, two concrete roof tile profiles are being produced on the production line: Double Roman and Ridge.

The production plant was pre-commissioned in our factory under real production conditions.

All of the electrical connections are made up of plug-in connections. That means that directly after being assembled, roof tiles can be produced.

Our client also placed a lot of value on training the personnel in the correct operation and maintenance of the plant. It was agreed upon that after a certain period of time, we would pay another visit to do further training and carry out further product optimizations.

The commissioning was successfully carried out on time and to our client's complete satisfaction.

Rank Roofing wraps up commissioning on one of the most modern concrete roof tile plants in operation today

After being contracted to build a new concrete roof tile production plant and successfully carrying out the commissioning, Rank Roofing wins the trust of a well known roof tile manufacturer.

The production plant is a fully-automatic production line. Two concrete roof tile profiles are produced on the line:

   - COPPO DI GRECIA (Mediterranean)
   - FLAT (full size shingle)

The plant is also capable of producing roof tiles with a two colour concrete mix (Dual-colour concrete roof tile).

In addition, we have been contracted to install a new semi-automatic accessories line.

   - Ridge
   - Verge (left and right)

The newest process specific knowledge and technology was consequently integrated into the planning and engineering of the new plant.

Most important to the client was getting a plant, which was extremely flexible so they could react to market demands.

Commissioning was successfully completed at the beginning of July.

Rank Roofing is setting new milestones in the production of concrete roof tiles.
